What is Concentric and Eccentric Reducer
Butt weld reducer is a fitting used for reducing the diameter of pipelines. Usually there are Concentric Reducers (which the central axis of the large and small ends coincides) and Eccentric Reducers (which the outer wall of one side of the large and small ends is in a straight line).
Butt weld concentric reducer is a type of steel butt welded pipe component. Shaped like a conical joint which used to increase or decrease the diameter of the center line. It is popular to transport mud and grinding fluid, suitable for corrosive operations, and also beneficial for use in areas requiring different ratings and wear protection when transporting between flanges or pipelines.
Butt weld eccentric reducer are widely used because they can ensure that the pipeline has an elevation of the same height before and after diameter reduction, making it easier to support. Sometimes, in order to prevent liquid collection at the variable diameter section of the pipeline, concentric reducers are also used.
Butt Weld Reducer Standard Reference
The production standards for butt weld reducer mainly including :
• ANSI/ASME B16.9 / MSS SP 43
• EN10253

6" X 4" SCH40 Butt Weld Reducer Of ASTM A403 WP316/L
Butt weld reducer material of ASTM A403 WP316/L contains chromium and nickel which has good corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. As a result stainless steel butt weld reducer can provide better machining and welding performance than carbon steel of eccentric reducer.
6" X 4" SCH40 butt weld reducer of stainless steel is a low-carbon version of carbon steel butt weld reducer which has similar corrosion resistance and processing performance to stainless steel 316.
Butt weld reducer its carbon content is less than or equal to 0.03%, which reduces the carbon precipitation of 316L during welding, so that reducing the sensitivity of the weld seam. Anyway, it still better resistance in some specific corrosive environments.
