What is the Threaded Plug
Pipe plugs are used in the closing of the ends of various hydraulic or pneumatic pipes or tubes. Plugs are essential devices used in the plumbing apparatus of both industrial and domestic water supply lines, machinery and so on. They are also for removal of air blocks on water pump lines.
A plug is a male threaded fitting which seals the end run of a pipe when fitted into a female threaded fitting. An end cap is a female threaded fitting and is threaded over the end of a piece of pipe to seal it off.
When using a plumbing pipe plug, you are doing one of three things: stopping the flow in a pipeline or opening; by passing the flow running through the pipeline, or. performing a low-pressure air test on a new pipeline before placing it into service; or testing a pipeline already in service for leaks.
Specification of Thread Plug
Threaded pipe fittings come in a variety of sizes and shapes and can provide an effective seal for pipes transporting liquids, gas and steam. They twist onto pipe using various male and female thread connections including NPT or BSP.

Classification of Thread Plug
There are 3 types of ASME/ANSI B16.11 threaded plug that hex head, round head and square head.Pipe plugs are used as end caps for fractional pipes in many industries. These pipe plugs are available in carbon steel & stainless steel and used by inserting them into the end of the pipe to block the flow.
Hex Head Plug
Hex plug is an important pipe fitting. Like a normal pipe plug, the hex pipe plug is threaded in the end and the cover or the top of the plug takes a hexagon shape. The hex pipe plugs are considered an easy and cost effective way to plug your pipe. The basic purpose is to stop the flow.
Round Head Plug
American threaded round head plug is used to plug into the pipe end by male threaded connection, so to block the pipeline and form liquid or gas tight seal.
Square Head Plug
A Square Pipe Plug has a male pipe thread on one end and a closed off square shaped plug at the other end. It differs from a Hex Plug only in that it has a square shape head instead of a Hexagon head.
Carbon Steel Threaded Plug
ASTM A105 is the most commonly used carbon steel material grade that used to manufacture forge piping components such as flange and forged fittings of small diameter piping. This carbon steel material grade is used for ambient- and higher-temperature service in pressure systems.

Advantage for Thread Plug
-Thread plugs are components used in plumbing and mechanical systems, offering a secure and reliable way to seal female threaded openings.
-Manufactured out of carbon steel A105 & A105N these NPT pipe plugs have external (male) threads for easy installation and a square-shaped head that allows for easy tightening or loosening by using a wrench or socket tool.
-The design ensures a stable grip during installation, allowing for better control over the sealing process. Threaded square head plugs are used in residential plumbing and industrial machinery applications.
-Used for closing off unused openings, allowing maintenance procedures, or safeguarding female threaded connections, these carbon steel pipe plugs provide a reliable and robust sealing of threaded openings.
