In January 2025, our company received an inquiry from a customer in Singapore for a batch of carbon steel pipes. The material is relatively common, and the product is our company's main product. The customer particularly emphasized that the port should be sprayed with yellow paint as a sign of seamless identification.
ZIZI is a company specializing in the production and processing of pipes and fittings. The pipes and pipe fittings we produce are mainly used in chemical, petroleum, natural gas, water conservancy, electric power, marine engineering and other fields. The products mainly include seamless pipes, welded pipes, butt-welded pipe fittings, high-pressure forged pipe fittings and flanges of various sizes. The materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, low-temperature steel, duplex steel, base alloy, etc.

✅ 1. Visual Inspection
Check for surface defects: cracks, laps, seams, scale, gouges, or scoring
Ends must be beveled or plain as per order
Pipe straightness and ovality are checked
✅ 2. Dimensional Inspection
OD (Outer Diameter), WT (Wall Thickness), and Length as per order and tolerances
Measured using calipers, ultrasonic gauges, etc.
Ovality and eccentricity are checked especially for large diameter pipes
API 5L Grade B PSL 2 seamless pipe is a specific type of steel pipe that adheres to the American Petroleum Institute (API) Specification 5L. Here's a breakdown of what that means:
API 5L: This is an API specification that outlines the requirements for steel pipe used in pipeline transportation systems for the petroleum and natural gas industries. It covers seamless and welded steel line pipe.
Grade B: This refers to a specific grade of steel within the API 5L specification. Grade B indicates a certain minimum yield strength and tensile strength. It's a very common and widely used grade for standard pipeline applications.
PSL 2 : API 5L defines two product specification levels: PSL 1 and PSL 2. PSL 2 has more stringent requirements than PSL 1 regarding chemical composition, mechanical properties, and testing.
Pipes manufactured to PSL 2 standards generally have:
Stricter chemical composition limits: This ensures higher quality and consistency of the steel.
Higher mechanical properties: Typically includes higher yield strength, tensile strength, and impact toughness requirements.
More rigorous testing requirements: This can include non-destructive testing (NDT) like ultrasonic testing, and more detailed inspection procedures.
Specific manufacturing practices: PSL 2 often requires the steel to be killed (fully deoxidized) and produced using fine grain practices.
