What Is API 5L GR B ?
Line pipe is manufactured to specifications established by the American Petroleum Institute (API). API 5L is a specification of API that defines standards for the dimensional, physical, mechanical and chemical properties of steel. API 5L GR B seamless pipe is also called carbon steel pipe. It is a long steel material with a hollow cross-section and no seams around it. Steel pipes have hollow sections and are widely used as pipelines for transporting fluids, such as pipelines for transporting oil, natural gas, coal gas, water and certain solid materials. According to its processing method, it is divided into: seamless pipe, straight seam pipe, and spiral pipe. API 5L GR B seamless pipe size can be from a minimum of 1/8 inch to 48 inches, and the length is in units of 6 meters and 12 meters. The production standards comply with the American standard ASME B36.10M.
