ASTM A105 forged fittings are forged and produced according to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) A105 standard. This standard specifies the chemical composition, mechanical properties and other technical requirements of carbon steel forgings to ensure the reliability and safety of pipe fittings in various industrial piping systems.
ASTM A105 Forged Fittings Standard
ASTM A105 specification covers forged carbon steel piping components for ambient- and higher-temperature service in pressure systems. Included are flanges, fittings, Valves, and similar parts ordered either to dimensions specified by the purchaser or to dimensional standards such as the MSS, ASME, and API specifications referenced in Section. Forgings made to this specification are limited to a maximum weight of 10000 lb [4540 kg].
Heat treatment
Heat treatment is not required except for flanges above Class 300, flanges of special design where the design pressure or design temperature are not known and for items over 4" NPS and above Class 300. When heat treatment is required, annealing, normalizing, Normalize and temper, normalize and quench and tempering shall be the applied methods.

ASTM A105 Forged Fittings Types
ASTM A105 Forged fittings can be divided into threaded fittings and socket weld fittings.
ASTM A105 threaded pipe fittings are made of carbon steel and are connected by processing threads. Its main features are easy and quick connection, no welding equipment required, and are suitable for pipeline systems that are not easy to weld or require high connection flexibility.
ASTM A105 threaded fittings include elbows, tees, crosses, couplings, caps, unions, plugs, bushings, hexagonal nipples, etc.
