Introduction of Butt Weld Equal Tee
Butt weld equal tee is a kind of widely used fittings whether in a pipe system or machines, the name comes from its shape looks like the letter T, it is used when you need to split the air or liquid flow. Equal tee, also known as straight tee, is the tee fittings whose run pipe and branch pipe are with the same dimension, different from that we have reducing tees. Depending on the type of end connection, there are butt weld equal tees, socket weld equal tees and threaded equal tees, during them the butt weld ones are the most commonly used.
Materials of Equal Tee
There are all kinds of materials are applied in the tee fittings, PVC, CPVC, fiberglass( none mental), cooper, allium, steel (mental).But since our title is about but weld equal tee, of course we should apply mental material. We are professionally major in steel material including carbon steel, alloy steel, pipeline steel and stainless steel. Below are the commonly used materials in butt weld equal tee.
Carbon Steel | Q235, 20#, 35#, 45#, 20G,Q345B, 16Mn, ASTM A234 WPB/WPC, A420 WPL6 |
API 5L Grades | ASTM A860 WPHY 42 / 46 / 56 / 60 / 65 |

Manufacturing Standard of Butt Weld Tee
Different countries have its own standard for the manufacturing process of butt weld fittings including butt weld tees. Usually it will organized by the countries’ industrial association and will cover all details in the product, including scopes, pressure ratings, size, marking, material, fitting dimensions, surface contours, end preparation, design proof tests, production tests, and tolerances. Let’s have a look at standard from different countries.
GB/T12459, GB/T13401, HG/T21635/21631, SH3408/3409 for Chinese Standard;
ANSI / ASME B16.9, MSS SP 43 for American standard, which is also the mostly commonly used ones;
JIS B2311/2312/2313, Japanese standard;
DIN2605/2615/2616/2617, Germany standard;
