On May 20, 2025, our company received an inquiry from a new customer about JIS B2220 5K weld neck flanges. The customer listed the specifications, materials, quantity and related technical requirements of the required flanges in detail in the email. After completing the quotation, the customer communicated with us about the specific details and placed an order with us.
Shanghai Zhucheng Pipe Fittings Manufacturing Co Ltd. is an enterprise specializing in the production and processing of pipes and fittings, and the pipes and pipe fittings that we produce are mainly used in the fields of chemical industry, petroleum, natural gas, water conservancy, electric power, marine engineering and so on. Our products mainly include seamless pipes, welded pipes, butt-welded pipe fittings, high pressure forged pipe fittings and flanges of various sizes. The materials include carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, cryogenic steel, duplex steel, base alloy and so on.
JIS B2220 5K weld neck flange is a low-pressure pipe connection flange manufactured according to Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS), which is commonly used in various industrial piping systems, especially in the fields of chemical, shipbuilding, water treatment, pharmaceutical and construction.
JIS B2220 is the Japanese standard for steel pipe flanges, which specifies the flange size, pressure rating, sealing surface type, material, manufacturing method, inspection and marking, etc. This standard is different from the common ASME/ANSI standards.
In the JIS standard, the pressure rating of the flange is usually indicated by "K", such as 5K, 10K, 16K, 20K, 30K, etc.

Outer Diameter (OD): The diameter of the outer edge of the flange.
Inner Diameter (ID): The inside diameter of the flange neck where it connects to the pipe.
Hub OD: The maximum outside diameter of the flange neck where it connects to the flange.
Thickness: The thickness of the flange.
Hub Length: The length of the flange neck.
Number and Diameter of Bolt Holes: Ensure the number of bolt holes is correct and the diameter meets the requirements for connection with the matching flange or equipment.
Bolt Hole Spacing: The center-to-center distance between bolt holes, usually symmetrical.
High Strength: Butt-welded connections allow for an even distribution of stress between the flange and the pipe, and are able to withstand higher pressures and temperatures.
Good sealing: Reduces the risk of leakage and is particularly suitable for high pressure, high temperature or flammable and explosive fluids.
Corrosion resistance: Reduced erosion of the inside of the flange by fluids due to its smooth inner wall.
Long fatigue life: structural design facilitates resistance to cyclic stresses in the piping system.
