What is Threaded Union
Threaded union is a threaded fitting which allows the pipe work to be separated and reconnected without any horizontal movement in the pipe. It can be a standalone pipe fitting connecting two pieces of pipe, or an integral part of another fitting (such as a ball valve) which allows it to be separated.
NPT threaded union is a pipe connection that is easy to assemble and disassemble. It can be widely used in different diameters pipeline connection, and the connection of meter and valve with pipe line.
Threaded union is the most common type of pipe fitting in industry and daily life. Threaded union make pipeline connections simpler and easier to disassemble and replace, greatly saving the cost of pipeline connections.
They are used on pipe systems, including plumbing that soldered, brazed, welded, solvent welded or threaded connections. Unions are used at fixture and equipment connections and to effect repairs and tie-ins for adding to an existing piping system. Unions should not be installed in inaccessible locations.
Specification
Size range | 1/8” - 3” / DN6 - DN80 |
Pressure level | Class 3000 |
Production standards | MSS SP-83 |
Thread forms | NPT, PT, BSPP, BSPT, PF |
NPT Threaded Union Installation
Thread both ends of the pipe union fitting on to the pipe or fittings you want to connect.
Then use the center nut to join the two ends together, which will in turn connect the pipes or fittings.
NPT Threaded Union Advantages
The primary function of a threaded union is that it is designed to be disassembled, whereas a regular pipe coupling is not.
Stainless steel NPT threaded union allow for pipes, fittings and equipment to be easily installed and disassembled.
Useful when a fitting or component needs to be removed for repair or replacement.
And also when a removal or addition is made in the center of a configuration and its not possible to unscrew the pipe or fittings.
