ASTM A106 GrB. Seamless Steel Pipe belongs to U.S. standard steel pipe, A106 includes three grades: GrA, GrB, GrC. Materials A106 belongs to the ordinary carbon steel series, is one of the commonly used materials.
What is Seamless Steel Pipe ?
Seamless steel pipes are made of perforated round steel pipes without welds on the surface. According to production method, seamless steel pipe can be divided into hot-rolled seamless steel pipe, cold-rolled seamless steel pipe, cold-drawn seamless steel pipe, extruded seamless steel pipe, pipe jacking, etc. According to the section shape, the seamless steel pipe can be divided into two types: round and irregular. The irregular pipe has many complex shapes, such as square, ellipse, triangle, hexagon, melon seed, star and finned pipe. The maximum diameter is 900mm and the minimum diameter is 4mm. There are thick-walled seamless steel pipes and thin-walled seamless steel pipes according to their use. Seamless steel pipes are mainly used for petroleum geological drilling pipes, cracking pipes for petrochemical industry, boiler pipes, bearing pipes and high-precision structural steel pipes for automobiles, tractors and aviation.
Difference between Seamless Steel Pipe and Welded Steel Pipe
Different processes: Seamless tubes are made of steel billets or solid tube embryos which are perforated and processed by hot or cold rolling. Welded pipes are formed by bending and welding steel plates or strips.
Different appearance: There are no seams on the surface of seamless steel pipes. Welded pipe surface generally has welded seams.
Different wall thicknesses: The seamless steel pipe has low precision and relatively thick wall thickness. The steel pipe of welded pipe has high precision and usually has thin wall thickness.
Different raw materials: Seamless steel pipes use billets or solid tube embryos. Welded pipes are made of steel plates or strips.
