Hastelloy C22 Pipe refers to pipes made of Hastelloy C22 alloy. Hastelloy C-22 is a nickel-based high-temperature alloy containing elements such as nickel, molybdenum, cobalt, and tungsten, with a nickel content of about 60%. Hastelloy C22 alloy has good resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. It has excellent oxidation resistance in aqueous media, including wet chlorine, nitric acid, or mixed acids containing oxidizing acids containing chloride ions. At the same time, Hastelloy C22 (N06022) Hastelloy alloy also has the ideal ability to resist the reducing and oxidizing environments encountered during processing. With this versatile performance, it can be used in some troublesome environments or in various production target plants.
1.Resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion: Due to the content of molybdenum and tungsten, it has extremely high resistance to localized corrosion (such as pitting and crevice corrosion) in chloride-containing environments.
2.Resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC): Excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking caused by chlorides.
3.Excellent mechanical properties: With high strength and good toughness, it can maintain structural integrity under high pressure and certain temperature conditions.
4.Good weldability: Hastelloy C22 pipe is not prone to forming grain boundary precipitates in the weld heat affected zone (HAZ), so it can be used directly in the "welded state" without post-weld solution treatment, which greatly simplifies the manufacturing process and reduces costs.
5.Thermal stability: It has excellent oxidation resistance in oxidizing atmospheres up to 1040°C (1900°F), but it is generally recommended to be used for a long time at temperatures below 677°C (1250°F) to maintain its best corrosion resistance.

Seamless pipe manufacturing
In the manufacturing of seamless Hastelloy C22 pipe, first, nickel, chromium, molybdenum and other alloy raw materials are made into ingots by vacuum induction melting or electroslag remelting to ensure uniform composition. Then the ingot is heated to 1150-1200℃, and the core shaft is inserted into the center of the ingot by a piercing machine to form a hollow tube blank, which is then initially formed by hot rolling and hot extrusion; then cold rolling or cold drawing is used, and multiple diameter reduction and wall reduction operations are performed to achieve high-precision dimensional requirements.
Welded pipe manufacturing
In the manufacturing of welded Hastelloy C22 pipe, the alloy is first made into strips or plates, and then the surface impurities are removed by cleaning treatment, and then the strips are bent into tubes by roll forming and other methods, and then the pipe seams are fused by welding processes such as electric resistance welding (ERW) or electric fusion welding (EFW). After welding, the weld is subjected to non-destructive testing such as radiographic testing to check for defects such as pores and unfused, and size calibration and surface treatment (pickling and passivation) are performed at the same time.
