ASTM A403 stainless steel elbow is a kind of fitting that connects two pipes by welding to change the direction of the pipe. Common angles are 45°, 90° and 180°, which are used for guiding and turning fluid media.
ASTM A403 is a standard specification published by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), which mainly covers forged austenitic stainless steel pipe fittings for pressure piping applications. These pipe fittings are designed for pressure piping and pressure vessel services in high temperature and corrosive environments.
In chemical production, various corrosive media are transmitted in pipelines. Stainless steel elbows can ensure the integrity and safety of the pipeline system. In building water supply and drainage systems and central air-conditioning systems, stainless steel elbows are used to connect pipelines and realize pipeline layout. Contact us

Classification by bending radius: can be divided into long radius elbow (LR ELBOW) and short radius elbow (SR ELBOW). Long radius elbow radius of curvature is equal to 1.5 times the outside diameter of the pipe, that is, R = 1.5D; short radius elbow radius of curvature is equal to the outside diameter of the pipe, that is, R = 1.0D (D is the diameter of the elbow, R is the radius of curvature).
Classification by bending angle: 45-degree elbow, 90-degree elbow and 180-degree elbow, according to the direction of the pipeline system and the layout of the needs of the pipeline to change the direction of flow.
Classification by production method: seamless elbow and straight-seam elbow. Seamless elbow is processed from the whole piece of metal material, there is no weld, with higher strength and sealing; straight-seam elbow is made of steel plate or steel strip through the welding process, with higher production efficiency and relatively low cost.

1. Wooden Case Packaging (Plywood Case / Wooden Box)
Use fumigation-free wooden case or plywood box, moisture-proof and impact-proof. Usually several elbows are placed in each box and separated by foam or bubble wrap.
2. Pallet Packing (Pallet Packing)
Uniformly pack and place several elbows on a wooden pallet, and then wrapped with plastic film to fix.
3. Woven Bag/Plastic Bag Packing
Each elbow is first wrapped individually in plastic bag or bubble wrap to prevent friction and scratch. And then centralized into woven bags or cartons.

1. What is ASTM A403 material?
ASTM A403 is a standard specification for forged austenitic stainless steel fittings, including elbows, tees, reducers, and caps for pressure piping and pressure vessels. These fittings are made from stainless steel grades 304, 304L, 316, and 316L, and are typically produced by forging, forming, and subsequent heat treatment to ensure excellent corrosion resistance, strength, and durability in high-temperature and corrosive environments.
2. What is the difference between ASTM A403 and ASTM A234?
The main difference between ASTM A403 and ASTM A234 lies in the type of material and application areas. ASTM A403 is applicable to austenitic stainless steel butt weld fittings, such as 304, 316, etc., which has excellent corrosion resistance and is commonly used in chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries with high corrosion resistance requirements. ASTM A234 is suitable for carbon steel and alloy steel butt weld fittings, commonly used in oil, gas and high temperature and high pressure pipeline systems, emphasizing strength and heat resistance. Therefore, there is a clear difference between the two in the choice of material and the use of the environment.
