Threaded pipe fittings is one type of forged steel fittings which available in pressure rating of Class 2000, Class 3000 and Class 6000.
While 3000 lbs is the most common used among these ratings. It aslo can be marked as 3M where M means 1000.
There are many types can be provided as class 3000 pipe fittings, such as elbows (90 deg / 45 deg), tees, crosses, couplings (full/half), caps, unions, bushing, nipple. These fittings can be manufactured from carbon steel A105, SS A182 F304 / F316, nickel alloys and duplex stainless steel. The diameter range is 1/8" to 4".
Threaded Pipe Fittings VS Butt Welding Fittings
Butt welding is the most common type of connection and life is stronger than threaded. It also has large size range. But threaded is more convenient and can be used in some chemical environments that butt welding can't.
