The Concept of Elbows
An elbow is installed between two lengths of pipe (or tubing) to allow a change of direction, usually a 90° or 45° angle; 22.5° elbows are also available. The ends may be machined as butt welding, threaded (usually female), or socketed. When the ends differ in size, it is known as a reducing (or reducer) elbow.

If the radius is the same as the pipe diameter, it is called a short radius elbow, which is the abbreviation of SR elbow and is usually used for low pressure and low speed pipelines.If its radius is larger than the pipe diameter and R ≥ 1.5 diameter, it is called a long radius elbow (LR elbow), which is suitable for high-pressure and large-flow pipelines.

Manufacturing Standard As ANSI / ASME B16.9
ANSI / ASME B16.9 indicates the overall dimensions, tolerances, ratings, testing and marking of factory-made forged butt-welding fittings at size range from NPS 1⁄2 to NPS 48 (DN 15 to DN 1200).
ASME B16.9 also covers pipe fittings manufactured to special dimensions, shapes and tolerances as agreed between the manufacturer and the buyer.
The ASME B16.9 fittings can be made from an extensive range of mateirals including:
(1) carbon and low-alloy steels in accordance with ASTM A234 and ASTM A420;
(2) austenitic and duplex stainless steels in accordance with ASTM A403 and ASTM A815;
(3) nickel alloys in accordance with ASTM B366;
(4) aluminum alloys in accordance with ASTM B361;
(5) titanium alloys in accordance with ASTM B363.

1. Dimension measurements, all within standard tolerance.
2. Thickness tolerance:+/-12.5% , or on your request.
3. PMI
4. PT, UT,X-ray test
5. Third party inspection.
6. Supply MTC, EN10204 3.1/3.2 certificate, NACE.
