ASME B16.5 Standard for Flanges
For the ASME flanges, there are three mainly used standard: ASME B16.5, B16.47, B16.48.
The size from 1/2" to 24" are suitable for ASME B16.5 standard.
The most used flange types ASME B16.5 are Welding Neck, Slip On, Socket Weld, Lap Joint, Threaded and Blind flange.
What is Threaded Flange
ASME B16.5 threaded flange design (also called a 'screwed flange') uses a screw thread to connect the flange to a pipe.
A male thread is cut onto a pipe end whilst a female thread is cut into the bore of the flange; the male threaded pipe is then screwed into the female threaded flange.
ASME B16.5 threaded flange advantage is that the piping system would be quite easy to assemble as there would not be any welding in the piping joint.

Packing
For the size of 1/2" -8" , the package type is crate, and put the protector for each flanges
8" - 12" is Pallet, and above 12" is loose.
However, the packaging can be customized according to the customer's specific requirements.

It is very common to find these flanges today in cooling water lines, firefighting water lines, low-pressure compressed air lines, and process lines for substances such as steam, oil, gas, condensates, etc.
