What is Butt Weld Reducer
Butt weld reducer is the type of pipe fitting which helps to join two pipes with different diameters. There are various material for The pipe reducers as per the demands of industries and also available in many dimensions. There are two types: butt weld concentric reducer and eccentric reducer.
ASTM A234 WPB eccentric reducers are used in piping systems to connect pipes of two different diameters. The reducer has two parallel ends that are offset to one another so that the fitting has an edge inline with both pipe sizes.
ASTM A234 Eccentric Reducer is an odd shape. It has expansion in its body only on one side of the length of it. The other side of the length remains parallel to the pipes. This makes it easy to align and handle in specific locations. A234 Ecc Reducer is also effective as the concentric ones but is more specific in needs.
Different of Butt Weld Concentric Reducer and Eccentric Reducer
As the name, concentric reducers have the shape of a cone. Different with eccentric reducers, concentric reducers have a common center line. Meaning that when using these fittings you will be able to align the centers of both pipes, it is a straight line from the centre of your bigger pipe to the centre of the smaller one.
ASTM A234 WPB eccentric reducers are a bit different. One of their sides is straight, with one of the edges running parallel to the connecting pipe and results in the centreline being offset. Standard
