What is Carbon Steel Butt Weld 45 Degree Elbow
Carbon steel butt weld 45 degree elbow is also called "45 elbow or 45 ell", and it’s bending mode can change the flow direction of fluid / gas in the pipeline by 45 degree. In the field of carbon steel butt weld 45degree elbow, it looks like a half of the 90 degree elbow. Commonly, the 90 degree elbows can be a seamless elbow or a welded elbow. Bending the two ends of pipe to a angle of 45 degree, it is a 45 degree seamless elbow.
The function of a 45 Degree Long Radius Elbow is same as 90 degrees long and short elbow, but the measurement and dimensions are different to that of a 90 degree long and the short elbow. The radius of both the 45 degree and 90 Degree long and short elbow is the same however, the center to face dimension is not equivalent due to the smaller degree of bend.Compared with 90 degree elbow, 45 degree elbow produces less friction and lower pressure.
Carbon steel butt weld 45 degree elbow widely used in chemical, food, water supply facilities, electronic industry, chemical piping, horticulture, agricultural production, solar equipment piping, air conditioning piping and many other applications.

Properties for Carbon Steel Material
Carbon steel is often divided into two main categories: low-carbon steel and high-carbon steel. It may also contain other elements, such as manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and silicon, which can affect its properties. Carbon steel can be easily machined and welded, making it versatile for various applications. It can also be heat treated to improve its strength, hardness, and durability.
Carbon steel is susceptible to rust and corrosion, especially in environments with high moisture levels and/or salt. It can be shielded from corrosion by coating it with paint, varnish, or other protective material. Alternatively, it can be made from a stainless steel alloy that contains chromium, which provides excellent corrosion resistance. Carbon steel can be alloyed with other elements to improve its properties, such as by adding chromium and/or nickel to improve its resistance to corrosion and oxidation or adding molybdenum to improve its strength and toughness at high temperatures.
It is an environmentally friendly material, as it is easily recyclable and can be reused in various applications. It is energy-efficient to produce, as it requires less energy than other metals such as aluminium and copper.
Types of Carbon Steel
Type | Carbon content (wt.%) | Micro structure | Properties |
Low-carbon steel | < 0.25 | Ferrite, pear lite | Low hardness and cost. High ductility, toughness, mach inability and weld ability |
Medium-carbon steel | 0.25 – 0.60 | Martensite | Low hard an ability, medium strength, ductility and toughness |
High-carbon steel | 0.60 – 1.25 | Pear lite | High hardness, strength, low ductility |
Applications For 45 Degree Elbow
Water supply facilities.
Food industrial pipelines.
Chemical industrial pipelines.
Electronic industrial pipelines.
