Brief Introduction of Carbon Steel Butt Weld Outlet
Carbon steel butt weld olets (also called Branch Connection Fittings or Outlet Fittings) are fittings that provide an outlet from a larger pipe to a smaller one or the same size.
Olets are a kind of forged fitting that is invented to connect pipes or other types of fittings. The main pipe onto which the branch connection is welded is usually called the run or header size.
When in installation, butt weld refers to the beveled outlet that is butt-welded to the branch pipe. The weldolet is ideal for replacing a tee on 90-degree branches with a reinforced connection that protects the branch pipe by reducing stress concentration due to its shape and size.
Types of Outlet
There are in total 13 types pipe olets fittings, and weldolet, sockolet and threadolet are mostly common used. Their names is determined by how they are connected to the branch.
Dimension of Butt Weld Outlet
Weldolet is most common and economical of outlet. It is welded to the main run pipe (larger size) and connceted to the branch pipe (small size). The shape of the carbon steel butt weld outlet ensures little stress concentration on the branched pipe, providing an integral reinforcement. The weldolet has three pressure levels:STD,XS and Sch160, and the main production standards are MSS SP-97 and GB/T 19326.

How do Weldolets Work
Carbon steel butt weld outlets are installed through welding. The fitting has a welding outlet on one end, which is welded onto the main pipe, and a threaded or socket weld connection on the other end to accommodate the smaller branch pipe or component, which ensures a strong and leak-resistant connection between the main pipe and the branch pipe.
