Brief Introduction of SS304L 90 Degree Elbow
SS304L 90 degree elbow is normally used to make the connection between two pipes. On a level installation, 90 degree elbows serve as corner or railing ends. Put it simply, the 90 degree elbows can be easily connected to pipes in different materials, such as steel, copper, plastics, rubber and so on.
Stainless steel 304L elbow is a kind of pipe fitting which is applied between two sections of pipelines and is mostly used to change the pipe direction, angle, or connect pipes of different directions. 90 degree elbows can turn the pipeline to 90 degrees so as to fit in different pipeline layouts.
As a type of versatile and widely used pipe steel product, SS304L pipe contains very low carbon components which means that it exhibits excellent corrosion resistance.
Types of 90 Degree Elbow
SS304L 90 degree elbow can be divided into a long-radius elbow and short-radius elbow or SR elbow. Long radius elbow (LR elbow) refers to those elbows whose curvature radius is 1.5 times the diameter of the pipe. Short radius elbow (SR elbow) means that the curvature radius of the elbow equals to the diameter of the pipe.
Long radius elbow shows a smoother flow than the short radius, but it’s in need of more space. Short radius elbow has the capacity of creating a relatively large drop and fluid. However, it does not flow as smoothly as it does in the long radius elbow.
Material of SS304L
304 stainless steel is an austenitic grade which can be severely deep drawn. With this property, 304 is the dominant grade which is applied in applications including sinks and saucepans. SS304L is the lower carbon version of 304. SS304L is used in heavy gauge components for improved weldability.
