What is Threaded Steel Pipe Fittings
Threaded pipe fittings provide permanent welded connections for pipes. Threaded joints probably represent the oldest method of joining piping systems.
ASME B16.11 threaded elbow dimensions and weight are designed in ASME B16.11 standard, and in types of straight & reducing elbow, female/female & male / female elbow, 90 & 45 degree elbow. Their size are from 1/8" to 4" and afford pressure in Class 2000, 3000 & 6000. Compare with butt weld elbow, it has two angle that 90 degree and 45 degree. ASME Threaded Elbow is actually a fitting that is being installed in between the two lengths of tube or a pipe to allow in changing the direction of a flow.
NPT Threaded Type
National Pipe Thread is also called NPT, which is an American standard thread. It may also be refereed to as MPT , MNPT or NPT (M) for male external threads. and FPT, FNPT or NPT(F) for female internal threads. A thread sealant must always be used to achieve a leak free seal (except for NPTF). It is also based on Trade Size rather than actual diameter (similar to BSP in this regard).
