ASTM A733 threaded pipe nipple is a short piece length of pipe or tube that includes one thread end with plain or bevel end, or both thread ends. The material can be carbon steel black or stainless steel bright. The length of the threaded nipple is usually determined by the total length of the thread. ASME B16.11 Hex Nipple and MSS SP 95 Swage Nipple are another two types of threaded nipples.
Threaded fittings come in a variety of sizes and shapes and can provide an effective seal for pipes transporting liquids, gas and steam. They twist onto pipe using various male and female thread connections including NPT or BSP.
We usually call carbon steel as black steel and stainless steel as bright or white steel based on the material surface.
Threaded black nipple can be made by various carbon steel grades, such as ASTM A106B, A333 GRADE 6, API 5L B / X42 / X52 / X56 / X60 / X65 / X70. And machine one or two ends in thread of NPT or BSP.
