What is ASTM A182 Threaded Elbow
ASTM A182 threaded elbow is a pipe fitting that connects and changes the direction of the pipeline through threaded connection. Common steel elbow include of 45 degree elbow and 90 degree elbow by there shape, usually have three kinds of connection types, butt weld, socket weld and threaded.
Besides size and thickness/pressure ratings, for threaded elbows, there are another two factors matters most, the material and threaded type.
From ASTM A182 threaded elbow, we still have some problems, 45degree or 90 degree, what is the pressure rating, what is the exact material type and what is the treads type?
Pressure rating of Threaded Elbow
From paragraph one, we know that ASTM A182 threaded elbow should have a pressure rating number to decide the thickness of the fittings.
According to ASME B 16.11 standard, there are three different grade of pressure ratings, class 2000. class 3000 and class 6000.
