What is the Threaded Coupling
Threaded Coupling is a threaded joint of a drill pipe that offers high strength to the threaded joint connections. It is placed on the drill pipe that is used to drill a wellbore. These couplings are also known as tool joints. They help to withstand multiple cycles of tightening that lead to loosening of the threads during the drilling the drilling process.
How the Threaded Coupling works
The Function of threaded coupling is as follows - Hoses are easily identifiable objects. These Hoses are connect using a threaded coupling male. The threaded end of the threaded coupling adapter is screwed onto a faucet. While the other end of the threaded coupling material - class 3000 is clamped onto the hose. With piping, one end of a ASME B16.11 coupling dimensions is screwed onto the pipe, while the other end of the threaded fittings dimensions could either be made to be tightly inserted, or welded, onto the other end of the 2 threaded coupling.
Types of Carbon Steel Threaded Coupling
Threaded Full Coupling
Threaede Half Coupling
There are two types of ASME B16.11 Threaded Coupling. Threaded Half Coupling & Threaded Full Coupling are available in the market in both the male and female varieties.
The male threaded half coupling 3000 will have external threads that the pipe fits over. On the other hand, a Female 1/2 threaded half coupling will have internal threads. The piping is inserted and twisted in the ASME B16.11 Threaded Half Coupling in order to secure the connection.
