What Is a Carbon Steel Butt Weld Concentric Reducer
Carbon steel concentric reducer is designed to connect two parts of tubes or pipes of different sizes when they are on the same center axis in the pipe line. Depending on the connecting type, there are three kinds of reducer: butt weld, socket weld and threaded. For example, a carbon steel butt weld concentric reducer will be applied when a 1/2 inch pipe is going to transit into an 1 inch pipe end meanwhile the two ends of the pipes don’t need to keep in the same level in a carbon steel pipe system. The Concentric Reducer can be made from different kind of materials including carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless steel depending on the whole pipeline.
For steel pipe fittings material standard, A234 include carbon and alloy steel material ,among which A234 WPB is the carbon steel specification for carbon steel butt weld concentric reducers.
Difference Between Concentric Reducer and Eccentric Reducer
Different from eccentric reducer, a concentric reducer keep their center line in the same center line. Concentric reducers, they decrease the outer diameter of the pipe ends at a stable ate over one certain length, to reduce the pipe size and keep the pipes system symmetrical at the same time. Eccentric reducers are usually used on the flat surface on the ground because it is more easy to place the pipes on the track.
ASME B16.9 Concentric Reducer Specification

Carbon Steel Butt weld Concentric Reducer Package
For small size carbon steel butt weld concentric reducer,we will use wooden case with plastic protector at the end.
For large size carbon steel butt weld concentric reducer, we will use wooden pallet with water proof plastic film outside.
For all size, the basic painting will be normal black paint.
