ASME B16.5 Standard for Flanges
ASME B16.5 is a standard developed by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers for pipe flanges and flange connections. This standard provides detailed specifications for flanges of various sizes, pressure levels, materials, and surface types to meet the needs of various industrial applications.
This standard is limited to flanges which is made from cast or forged materials, and threaded flanges and certain reducing flanges made from cast, forged, or plate materials. Also included in this standard are requirements and recommendations regarding flange bolting, flange gaskets, and flange joints.
The most used flange types ASME B16.5 are Welding Neck, Slip On, Socket Weld, Lap Joint, Threaded and Blind flange.

There are many types of the facing for the threaded flanges as below:
Flat face full face (FF), raised face (RF), male face(M), female face (FM), tongue face(T), groove face (G), ring Joint face ( RTJ/ RJ ). Usually, FF and RF is common in the market.
Applications
They are mainly used for fluids at low pressure or with little risk of leakage. It is very common to find these flanges today in cooling water lines, firefighting water lines, low-pressure compressed air lines, and process lines for substances such as steam, oil, gas, condensates, etc.
Packing
For the size of 1/2"-8", the package type is crate, and put the protector for each flanges
8"-12" is Pallet, and above 12" is loose.
However, the packaging can be customized according to the customer's specific requirements.
