What is Class 3000 Threaded Outlet
Threaded outlets are used similarly to other sokcet weld outlets, but these outlets are fitted with female threads on the inside of the outlet branch. This threaded connection creates a better connection than would be achieved by tapping the pipe wall.
Class 3000 threaded outlets are used connect pipe at a 90°angle. After drilling a hole in the pipe, these fittings can straddle the pipe to cover the hole and be welded in place. Threaded outlet has a female NPT internal thread into which a male NPT external thread can be inserted.
Class 3000 threaded outlet have a female thread connection in its bore section that screwed to the fittings, it is manufactured as standard MSS SP-97. It typically is in the size range of 1/8″ to 4” and is welded over a hole either drilled or burned in the pipe.

How does a Threaded Outlet Work
A threadolet is similar to sockolet. However the main difference is that threadolets have female threaded connection with the branched pipe screwed on the fitting. This makes the 90 degree branch a full size or reduced straight pipe.
Difference Between Threaded Outlet and Butt Weld Outlet
Threaded Outlet
Butt Weld Outlet
The main differences are the connection surface, weldolets end in plain or beveled to weld on the branch pipe while threadolet is insert branch pipe and have screw connection.
Application of Outlet
Class 3000 threaded outlet work by being inserted into a threaded opening and connecting two pipes without needing of welding or soldering. The ends of the threadolet have grooves that fit together with an o-ring between them, creating a tight seal. This allows liquid and airflow without any leakage.
