What is Stainless Steel Threaded Flange

The stainless steel threaded flange design (also called a 'screwed flange') uses a screw thread to connect the flange to a pipe.

A male thread is cut onto a stainless steel pipe end whilst a female thread is cut into the bore of the flange; the male threaded pipe is then screwed into the female stainless steel threaded flange.
The threaded flange advantage is that the piping system would be quite easy to assemble as there would not be any welding in the piping joint.

The Difference Between Slip On and Threaded Flange

sliponflange_副本

Slip on Flange (SO)

threaded flange drawing_副本

Threaded Flange (TH)

Stainless steel threaded flange look identical to slip-on flanges, but the key difference is that the threaded flange is bored out to match the inside diameter of the particular pipe. The threaded flange is a type of flange that has taper pipe threads in its bore conforming to ASME B1. 20.1 and is helpful in piping systems.

Stainless Steel Flange

Stainless steel flange, also called SS flange, it means the material of flange is stainless steel. ASTM A182 Grade F304/L and F316/L is common material grade in the market, with pressure ratings from Class 150, 300, 600 etc and to 2500. It used in more industries than carbon steel as stainless steel has better resistant performances on corrosion environment and always provides with a good appearance.

There are varies advantages of stainless steel flange:

Resistant to corrosion and staining

Low maintenance

Bright familiar luster

Steel Strength

Notes

1) The thread conforms to ASME B1.20. 1 NTP threads as described in Section 10. (The only exceptions are small male and female plain face threaded flanges which use NPSL recount threads.)

2) Class 150 stainelss steel threaded flanges are made without a counterbore. Threads are chamfered to the major diameter (approx.) at an angle of 45° (approx.) at the back of the flange .

3) Weights are based on manufacturer’s data and are approximate.

4) If you need class 300 ,600 ,900 ,1500 ,2500 flanges,please contact us.
