What is the Butt Weld Tee?

Butt weld tee is a fitting that has a T shape. It has two outlets at an angle of 90° each and one main connection line. It is a pipe that has adjacent outlets and used to connect pipes at 90°angle.

Butt weld tee manufacture standard is ASME B16.9. It is T-shaped or Y-shaped with three outlets in same or different size and named as equal tee and reducing tee, the connecting ends are in same sizes, it is equal tee, while branch size is smaller than run pipe size, we call it as reducing tee.

UNS S32750 butt weld tee is widely used in petroleum, chemical industry,  power plant and other industrial pipelines. The common used material are carbon steel and stainless steel .

Standard Scope

Butt Weld Tee production standard is ASME B16.9. The standard includes specifications of  NPS 1/2 to NPS 48 (DN15-DN1200) factory-made wrought butt welded pipe fittings overall dimensions, tolerances ratings, test methods and markings.

Material Types Referred

Wrought fittings covered by this Standard shall be in accordance with ASTM A234, ASTM A403, ASTM A420, ASTM A815, ASTM B361, ASTM B363, ASTM B366.

What is the Material UNS S32750?

Alloy 32750 is a super duplex stainless steel supplied in solution annealed condition. As a super duplex stainless steel, it combines the ideal properties of austenitic and ferritic steel grades. Higher chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content results in a Pitting Resistance Equivalency (PREN) >41, providing better pitting and crevice corrosion resistance than austenitic and duplex stainless steels in almost all corrosive media, and a critical pitting temperature over 50°c.

When supplied in the annealed condition, its yield strength reaches 80ksi (550Mpa), which is higher than most austenitic and duplex stainless steel grades. It cannot be hardened by heat treatment but can be strengthened by cold working. It also exhibits a lower coefficient of thermal expansion and higher thermal conductivity than austenitic steels and is suitable for operating temperatures up to 300'c. Alloy32750 is listed to NACE MR 0175 for sour environments and is ASME approved for pressure vessel applications for use in a variety of applications.

Notes

1) Besides the above mentioned standards, the standards of GB/T 10752 SH 3408 SH 3409 HG/T 21635 HG/T 21631 SY/T 0510 DL/T 695 EN 10253 etc.are also applied.

2) For the straight tees with DN≥650(NPS 26)and the reducing tees with DN≥350(NPS 14 , the outlet sizes are recommended to use (that mean the other sizes may be applied).

3) For the tees and crosses with the sizes larger than that listed in the above table,they will be supplied subject to the sized agreed by purchaser and manufacturer or according to manufacturer's size.
